Demographics

The age range of Greater Trenton Junior Golf's participants is generally 3-18 years old. The program is multiracial and open to all, but is comprised of 70% African American and 30% Hispanic and White.

The socio-economic background is generally working class, low-middle income, otherwise not exposed to golf.

Golf skills range from “never played” to “played occasionally”. GTJG also provides the opportunity for many children to continue to play golf after their participation in the program ends.

For 2006 we had approximately 85 females and 115 males participating. We expect the total number and the proportion of female participants to increase as we focus on female recruitment and retention.

A large majority (approximately 70%) can be classified as low income.
